2. Information Processed via Meta & WhatsApp Cloud API
When you interact with ASR Autobreakers Ltd via Meta platforms (Facebook / WhatsApp Business API):
- Contact Identifiers: WhatsApp phone number, contact name, and message timestamps.
- Vehicle Quotation Context: Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM), scrap valuation reference, and collection appointment preferences.
- Platform Identifiers: Meta User ID (PSID / WABA ID) used solely for message routing and delivery confirmation receipts.
3. Purpose of Processing & Lawful Bases
Data received through the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API is processed under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b) (Performance of a Contract) and Article 6(1)(a) (Consent):
- To transmit automated vehicle scrap quotation confirmations to customer WhatsApp numbers.
- To coordinate vehicle recovery logistics and drop-off appointments at our Peterborough recycling yard.
- To provide two-way customer support regarding auto parts inquiries and order status.

Message transport is securely facilitated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd / WhatsApp LLC under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Data Processing Agreements. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or WhatsApp metadata to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Opt-Out & Communication Preferences
You have full control over your WhatsApp communications:
- You may opt out of automated WhatsApp communications at any time by simply replying

6. User Data Deletion & Right to Erasure
Under UK GDPR and Meta Platform Policies, you may request the complete erasure of your WhatsApp message records and vehicle enquiry data at any time:
- Self-Service Erasure: Visit our dedicated User Data Deletion Page to submit an instant deletion request or track request status using your Confirmation Code.
- Facebook Account Removal: When you remove the ASR Autobreakers app from your Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites, Facebook automatically sends a secure callback to our server to purge active user records.
7. Statutory Compliance Retention Notice
In compliance with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and UK Environmental Permitting Regulations, completed vehicle purchase transaction records and DVLA Certificates of Destruction are retained for a statutory period of 3 years and are securely archived.
